The more than 40 museums and collections of the University invite you to experience scholarship and history at close range. The museums and collections offer compelling exhibitions that provide insights into research, everyday academic life, and the University's history. Before your visit, please check opening hours and locations, as well as our events and special exhibitions.

Exhibitions, lectures, publications, videos, and apps — discover a wide range of ways to get to know our collections and engage with them. On site, from home, or on a walk through the city — analogue or digital.

The digital collections portal heiCOLLECTIONS is currently still under construction. It will be fully available from winter 2026/spring 2027.

At the institutes of Heidelberg University, the collections are actively used in teaching and research. Numerous courses and research projects are directly linked to the holdings and offer students and researchers unique insights and opportunities for work. In addition, with the University Archives, the University Library's inherited collections, and state-of-the-art digitization technology, Heidelberg University provides the ideal basis for further research and digital cataloguing of its collection holdings.
