Heidelberg University’s collections are organized in a decentralized manner. This means they are housed at the respective institutes and research facilities across the city. Many of the collections are publicly accessible at their locations and offer a wide range of formats such as special exhibitions and public guided tours. Before your visit, please check the opening hours, accessibility, and offerings of the various museums and collections.
The public collections are generally accessible during specified opening hours or offer public guided tours by arrangement. The research collections, by contrast, are accessible only by arrangement and usually only for research purposes.
